On the 25th of February in Moscow in the MUZEON park at the height of the Pancake week celebrations MAKFA Company got the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the "Largest serving of pancakes". Sixteen professional cooks baked 12 716 thousands of pancakes using the MAKFA’s extra-quality flour and shared them with everyone.
Tens of thousands of people came to the festival to become the witnesses of the historical event to taste the record-breaking pancakes, to take part in amusing games and to win prizes from MAKFA.
Two official representatives of GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS (an organization that collects all the new records and publishes a new book) arrived from London to verify the record. The adjudicators Glenn Pollard and Lucia Sinigagliesi observed carefully the course of the event to avoid any violations. For example, according to the rules, all the pancakes should have been baked the same day and served on one surface. Exactly for it the organizers made a huge table of 23 square meters. At 15:45 a huge counter of the baked pancakes exceeded 12 716 thousands and the world record was set! As a symbol of the successfully Record attempt, Glenn and Lucia handed the official certificate from GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS to the sales Director of the company "MAKFA".
"This year is very special for us – MAKFA Company celebrates its 80th anniversary and we would like to commemorate this important event on an international scale! To get into the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD book, to organize the serving of pancakes during the celebration of one the favorite folk festivals and go down in history – that is the beginning of the year you can just dream about".
To taste the record pancakes the event visited Russian celebrities: multiple winner of international competitions in figure skating Irina Slutskaya and a popular singer Natalia Podolskaya.
