From September 18-23, the German city of Hannover hosted its signature metalworking exhibition EMO Hannover 2017. The motto of the world’s premier trade fair for the metalworking sector was “Connecting systems for intelligent production,” and the main focus was on metal-cutting and forming machine tools, production systems, high-precision tools, automated material flows, computer technology, and industrial electronics.Over 2,000 industry manufacturers presented their innovative solutions. According to the organizers, the six-day exhibition saw at least 130,000 visitors, with 70 percent of them arriving from abroad. The fair provided a platform to thousands of business events and B2B meetings.
Russian companies’ participation in EMO Hannover 2017 was sponsored by the Russian Export Center. The country’s best manufacturers presented their latest achievements at the fair. SOLVER Engineering showcased its brand-new solution for production management, the Naviman system. Naviman provides a fully automated enterprise management solution that monitors both machines and personnel, streamlines the workflows and saves production costs. Scientific Industrial Corporation Delta-Test presented its next generation of high-precision ARTA machines, the wire cut & spark erosion 6-axis EDM machine ARTA 454 C, capable of achieving extremely close tolerances, down to 1.5 μm, on some of the world’s hardest materials. StankoMashStroi presented its ST16k20 series of machines that were recently licensed for export. A number of German partners were interested in StankoMashStroi’s latest solution, while the exhibited items – the ST16K25B machines - were sold right from the exhibition stand. A number of other innovative machines were presented by the Sverdlovsk Instrument Plant, Pumori Corporation, InterMash, STAN Group, Cosco and Stankoinstrument Association.
Business Program and Cultural Events.
The Russian exhibition stand was unveiled on September 18. Welcome speeches were given by Klaus-Peter Kuhnmünch, General Affairs Manager at VDW (German Machine Tool Builders’ Association) and Yuri Stetsenko, Russian Trade Representative in Germany, as well as by some of the exhibitors. Russia held an official reception on Day Two, which provided companies with an opportunity to discuss the exports and progress of the machine-building industry in Russia. For six full days of the fair, exhibitors presented their products to prospective buyers from all over the world and participated in over 100 B2B meetings, where they discussed further cooperation opportunities with international business partners.
As reported by the organizers of Russia’s participation in the EMO Hannover 2017, all exhibitors agreed that the exhibition met all expectations, thanks to a large number of international exhibitors and visitors and a full and versatile schedule. The negotiations in Hannover provided a good foundation for further export cooperation.
