Astra Linux special-purpose operating systems based on the Linux core for comprehensive data protection and automated systems with security and protection protocols. First and foremost, it is meant for Russian law-enforcement bodies, special agencies and state structures. It ensures high-level protection of operational data at all levels, including the top secret data pertaining to national security. The operating system has been certified and cleared to be used by the Ministry of Defense, the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control, and the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. It has been enlisted in the Unified Register of Russian Software of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications.
In order to enable broad use of Russian IT solutions NPO RusBITech, which designs and supplies Astra Linux, together with the ParaType company, which is a designer of country-tailored fonts, gladly present new Russian fonts PT Astra Sans and PT Astra Serif. These are full-featured metric analogues of Times New Roman.
